Our Story

Nicholas Baran

Vibe Contractors was established in live site environments where safety, coordination and reliable delivery are critical. Our foundations in tree management required disciplined site control, clear stakeholder communication and strict compliance with environmental and WHS requirements. This experience continues to inform our approachk on

As our capability and workforce matured, we expanded into fencing, civil construction, earthworks and external works in response to project demand and proven site performance. We self-perform works efficiently and in accordance with drawings, BOQs, specifications, ESCPs and authority requirements, with a strong understanding of time-critical scopes that interface with multiple trades.

Vibe Contractors is a woman-owned, family-run business led in partnership with Nicholas, who brings extensive hands-on civil operations experience. We are not a desk-based contractor. Our leadership remains actively involved in planning, supervision and quality control to protect program, resolve issues early and deliver works as documented.

Supply Nation registered and based in Burwood, we service Sydney and regional NSW and regularly operate within structured procurement environments, including panels, schedules of rates and lump sum BOQ contracts. Our fencing experience includes boundary and security fencing delivered in live environments alongside roadworks, drainage and building interfaces, with strong emphasis on ESCP compliance and asset protection.

Accountability underpins how we operate. We take ownership of our scope, communication and workmanship, providing principals with clear responses, realistic programming and reliable delivery. Our approach is practical, collaborative and focused on supporting successful project outcomes and timely handover.

Director - Commercial Services, People & Training

Mele’s professional journey is defined by a commitment to people, learning, and building strong communities. She began her career in education, quickly progressing from assistant roles to operational management across several NSW centres. In these roles, Mele was instrumental in developing and implementing cross-centre curriculum programs, introducing innovative physical movement initiatives in public schools, and founding a nonprofit cultural dance group dedicated to empowering young people. Her collaboration with Waterloo PCYC gave youth and young adults the opportunity to engage with diverse cultures through dance, movement, and storytelling. These early experiences instilled in Mele a passion for building supportive teams, fostering open communication, and creating environments where people feel confident, valued, and motivated to excel.

Six years ago, Mele made a purposeful transition into the civil and construction sector. She chose to immerse herself in the industry from the ground up, working hands-on and onsite to gain a practical understanding of safety, site structure, and the importance of delivering work that stands the test of time. This hands-on experience has shaped her approach to leadership—grounded in a deep respect for skilled trades, a focus on process improvement, and a dedication to quality workmanship.

As Director of Commercial Services, People & Training at Vibe Contractors, Mele oversees all aspects of people management, training, and contractor administration. She is responsible for building and supporting reliable crews, developing training programs that elevate standards, and strengthening the operational systems that keep projects moving safely and efficiently. Mele leads with clarity and care, ensuring that every project is delivered to the highest standard and that every team member feels empowered to contribute their best work. Her purpose is rooted in developing people, lifting industry standards, and supporting clients and communities with integrity and excellence.

Nicholas Baran

Director – Operations, Workforce Management & Partnerships

Nicholas’s path into civil construction began far from the usual starting line. Growing up at his family’s greyhound lodge, he learned early the meaning of responsibility, consistency, and care—qualities that continue to shape his approach to leadership. Those formative years, spent tending to retired racing dogs, instilled in him a respect for hard work and a belief in showing up with purpose every day.

His transition into the construction industry started with tree management, where Nicholas built his skills from the ground up. Through hands-on experience, he developed a keen understanding of safe tree removal, site clearing, rigging, and working effectively in challenging, high-risk environments. This practical foundation allowed him to quickly assess sites, manage risks, and deliver quality outcomes even under pressure.

Nicholas’s commitment to safety and quality quickly earned him recognition from safety officers and site superintendents. His ability to lead small crews, communicate clearly, and uphold high standards became hallmarks of his reputation. He is known for his reliability and for fostering a culture of respect and accountability on every job site.

Today, as Director of Operations at Vibe Contractors, Nicholas oversees all site operations and the delivery of civil works projects. Nicholas manages project scopes, coordinates crews, and ensures that every job is completed safely, on time, and to the standard clients expect. His leadership style is hands-on and involved—he is present onsite, supporting his team, and maintaining direct oversight of quality and safety across every project.

Nicholas brings determination, practical expertise, and genuine care to every aspect of his work. His focus remains on building capable teams, maintaining rigorous safety standards, and ensuring that Vibe Contractors delivers consistent, dependable results. Nicholas leads with clarity, experience, and a steady commitment to excellence in every project he undertakes.
