Cultural Health & Wellbeing Advisor
Dr. Siupeli Haukoloa-Paea serves as Health and Wellbeing Advisor to Vibe Contractors, bringing extensive experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, cultural safety, and community-focused care. As Interim Executive Director of Aboriginal Health at St Vincent's Health Network Sydney, Siupeli leads the strategic direction and delivery of health services across the network. His work ensures culturally safe, high quality care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, grounded in community priorities and a commitment to health equity. Dr Siupeli is a proud descendant of Kaiwalagal, Kaurareg Nation in the Torres Straits and the Kingdom of Tonga. He has pursued extensive studies in health and medicine, reflecting a lifelong dedication to improving outcomes for First Nations communities through education, clinical practice, and policy reform. His leadership is aligned with the mission to serve all with compassion and justice, especially those most vulnerable. Through advocacy, cultural integrity, and systemic reform, he works to embed Indigenous knowledge systems and strengthen commitment to reconciliation, equity, and excellence in care. Dr Siupeli advises Vibe Contractors on workplace health programs, culturally safe practices, and strategies that support the wellbeing of teams working across civil and construction projects.

The business began in tree management, where the team learned what it means to work safely, communicate under pressure, and deliver results they could stand behind. Those early years shaped the way the company operates today. As opportunities grew in civil construction, the business expanded into fencing, earthworks, and commercial cleaning. The team brought the same work ethic and standards with them. They wanted to take full ownership of every scope they touched, so they built the skills, earned the trust, and proved they could deliver. Vibe Contractors is a family business, woman owned and operated in partnership with Nicholas, who brings years of civil operations experience. As partners in life and in work, they built the company together from the ground up with their own hands.
Today, Vibe Contractors is a Supply Nation registered civil construction company based in Burwood and operating across Sydney and beyond. The business works with clients who expect high standards and straight answers. It partners with trained professionals and supports First Nations led engagement on projects that demand safety, quality, and accountability. The company is working towards ISO certification as part of its ongoing effort to strengthen internal systems and maintain the level of service clients rely on.

Mele's career began in education, where she worked her way from assistant roles into operational management across several Sydney centres. During that time, she created programs that linked curriculum across multiple centres, developed physical movement programs in public schools, and successfully operated a nonprofit cultural dance group. Partnering with Waterloo PCYC, she gave youth and young adults the opportunity to learn about different cultures through dance, movement, and storytelling. Those years taught her how to build strong teams, communicate with purpose, and create environments where people feel supported and confident.
Six years ago, her path shifted into civil and construction. She chose to learn the industry hands-on and onsite, building her understanding of safety, structure, and the importance of taking pride in the work left behind. Today, Mele oversees people, training, and contractor administration for Vibe Contractors. Her focus is on building reliable crews, supporting site operations, and strengthening the systems that keep projects moving safely, smoothly, and to standard. She is currently completing a Certificate IV in Building Project Support (Contract Administration) to support the operational growth and future direction of the company. Mele's purpose is to build people, lift standards, and support every project with care and clarity.

His path into the construction industry started with tree management, where he built his skills from the ground up through hands-on experience. Nicholas developed expertise in safe tree removal, site clearing, rigging, and working in challenging and high-risk environments. He learned to assess sites quickly, manage risk effectively, and deliver quality outcomes under pressure. During those early years in civil construction, Nicholas earned consistent recognition from safety officers and site superintendents for his strong understanding of safety protocols, his ability to lead small crews, and his commitment to maintaining high standards on every job. His reputation was built on reliability, clear communication, and a genuine respect for the work. Nicholas oversees all site operations and civil works delivery at Vibe Contractors. As Director of Operations, he manages project scopes, coordinates crews, and ensures that every job is completed safely, on time, and to the standard clients expect. His hands-on leadership style means he's actively involved on site, supporting his team and maintaining direct oversight of quality and safety across all projects. Nicholas brings determination, practical expertise, and strong leadership to every aspect of the business.
